Once upon a twist…
You know how the story goes. The hero saves the day, the villain gets what they deserve, and everyone lives happily ever after. But who says the story has to go that way?
What if Cinderella never lost her glass slipper? What if Hansel and Gretel opened their own candy shop? What if the Big Bad Wolf became a social media influencer? Or what if Peter Pan discovered that growing up was not so bad after all? Brave heroes, wicked villains, magical wishes, impossible adventures, and, of course, the famous happily ever after – fairy tales have been part of our childhoods for generations. Still, there is always room for a new twist.
That is exactly what The English Challenge 2027 is all about!
This year, we are inviting you to step into the magical world of fairy tales, where the rules are yours to rewrite. Give your favourite characters a new personality, tell a story from the villain’s point of view, bring a fairy tale into the 21st century, mix different tales, or come up with an ending nobody would ever expect.
And who says the heroes always make the right choices? Are villains really born evil, or is there another side to their story? Would having three wishes actually make your life better? And does every story really need a happily ever after?
From timeless tales to modern-day adventures, from unexpected plot twists to stories that challenge our ideas of right and wrong, the possibilities are endless. Whether you are a storyteller, a performer, a filmmaker, a musician, a creative thinker, or someone who loves a good debate, there is a challenge waiting for you.
So, open your imagination, break a few fairy-tale rules, and get ready to put your own twist on a classic! The stories are familiar. The possibilities are endless. The twist is yours!
