REGISTRATION
Registration Round 1 is now open! It closes on 24/10/2025. You can register your school and mentors for the selected challenges.
Students from upper primary (Years 5-8) and secondary schools are welcome to participate in TEC. Each school may register its students in one or more challenges, but each student may participate in only one challenge.
In Registration Round 1, only the number of students in each challenge is required – not their names.
The maximum number of participants per school who will be invited to TEC will be determined in Registration Round 2.
The exact names of students will be required in Registration Round 2, when a registration fee of €20 per participant (mentor and student) will apply.
TIMELINE
October 2025
The theme of TEC 2026 announced – check it out here!
Registration Round 1 opens on 10/10/2025 and closes on 24/10/2025.
7 November 2025
The deadline by which it will be announced whether TEC 2026 can welcome all the participants registered in Registration Round 1.
Registration Round 2 begins for all 7 challenges (the exact names of mentors and students + registration fee required).
In case of an excessive number of registrations in Registration Round 1 in one or more challenges, the registered schools might either:
- be asked to reduce the number of their students/teams to one per challenge in any of the 7 challenges – this will be an opportunity to organise a school-level competition/selection;
- or enter a pre-selection stage in any of the following challenges: Story, Music, Film, Drama (because even after the reduction to one student/team per school per challenge, the number of participants would still be too large).
16 January 2026
- Announcement of topics for the Debate Challenge.
- The end of Registration Round 2, provided that no reduction in the number of students or pre-selection was necessary.
- However, if the number of registered participants was too large in one or more challenges in Registration Round 1, the following applies:
- If the schools have been asked to reduce the number of students/teams to one per school for any of the challenges:
- By this date, these schools conduct a school-level competition/selection and choose one student/team per challenge to register for TEC.
- Registration Round 2 begins for these schools for all 7 challenges, regardless of the number of challenges in which the reduction was done. The exact names of mentors and students, as well as the registration fee, will be required. Registration Round 2 is open for one week.
- If the schools have entered the pre-selection stage in any of the following challenges – Story, Music, Film, Drama:
- By this date, these schools should submit the stories, songs, films, and play scripts for the pre-selection stage to tec@m.ffzg.hr. All submitted materials should be anonymised; nowhere should there be any mention of the names of students/participants and/or their school.
- These schools do not enter Registration Round 2 yet; they will wait for the pre-selection stage to conclude before registering all their students for all challenges, regardless of how many challenges were part of the pre-selection stage.
- If the schools have been asked to reduce the number of students/teams to one per school for any of the challenges:
11 February 2026
- The deadline for submitting the stories, songs, films, and play scripts for the TEC 2026. They have to be sent to tec@m.ffzg.hr. All submitted materials should be anonymised; nowhere should there be any mention of the names of students/participants and/or their school.
- However, if the number of registered participants was too large in one or more challenges in Registration Round 1 and the schools have entered the pre-selection stage (for any of the following challenges: Story, Music, Film, Drama), the following applies:
- The end of the pre-selection stage.
- The invitations are sent to the accepted participants in these challenges.
- Registration Round 2 begins for these schools for all 7 challenges, regardless of how many challenges were part of the pre-selection stage. The exact names of mentors and students, as well as the registration fee, will be required. Registration Round 2 is open for one week.
